Sam Bradford has knee surgery

St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford had surgery on his left knee Monday, repairing a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Bradford was placed on injured reserve after getting hurt Oct. 20 against the Carolina Panthers.

The surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, was delayed to let the swelling go down.

"He said everything went very, very well," Rams coach Jeff Fisher told reporters. "It’s a very, very healthy knee considering the circumstances and so they were pleased.”
