Santonio Holmes back practicing

Now that he's off the physically unable to perform list from a Liscfranc foot injury that sidelined him last season, New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes practiced on a limited basis Monday.

Holmes looked good running, albeit at less than full speed, according to ESPN New York.

It remains unclear if the standout wide receiver will play in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he appears to be inching closer toward returning to full strength.

That's a positive sign for a football team that could use some good news.
