Seahawks already raving about Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens had not even arrived in Seattle as a member of the Seahawks and his new teammates were already raving about him.

Some of them witnessed his tryout for the team earlier in the week which convinced the Seahawks to sign the 38-year-old to a one-year contract.

Terrell Owens is an unbelievable talent. They brought him in because that's what Pete Carroll believes in is competition,” wide receiver Doug Baldwin told Mike Sando of ESPN.com. “He's going to come in immediately and compete for a job, and that's what we're all about here.”

Owens joins a mix that includes Sidney Rice, a splash signing in free agency a year ago, Baldwin and Golden Tate. Seattle also recently signed veteran Braylon Edwards. The club looks desperate to find help at the position.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Carson Palmer, who played with Owens in Cincinnati in 2010, recommended him.

"He's humble, and he's looking for chance to play," Carroll said. "I think that was a very long football season for him last year for him to sit out. I think he's been in transition for more than just this past season, at Buffalo and through his time at Cincinnati. He's been growing and becoming more comfortable with the way he is and the way he plays, the way he brings it to the practice field, the way he brings it to the locker room."

We’ll see how this works. Should be interesting to watch Owens and Randy Moss both in the NFC West.
