Seahawks claim WR Kyle Heckendorf

Wide receiver Kole Heckendorf found work quickly as the Seattle Seahawks claimed him off waivers after he was let go by Detroit.

The Lions cut Heckendorf lose to make room for tight end John Madsen. Heckendorf spent the second half of last season on the Lions practice squad. He first entered the league with Green Bay as an undrafted player from North Dakota State. Obviously, new Seattle general manager John Schneider, who came from the Packers, is familiar with him.

To clear room, Seattle released wide receiver Chris Duvalt.
