Seahawks continung to purge veterans

Veterans cannot be resting easy in Seattle these days.

Not with the massive overhaul being done to the roster of the Seahawks. If you ever needed evidence that there is no such thing as a final 53-man roster, we present to you the comings and goings in the Great Northwest.

Today, the Seahawks announced that safety Jordan Babineaux, defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson and fullback Owen Schmitt have been released, according to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times.

Taking their places are defensive end Raheem Brock, running back Michael Robinson and defensive tackle Junior Siavii. Running back Julius Jones, who ESPN reported would be released on Sunday, remains on the roster. At this rate, though, veterans continue to be purged.

The Seahawks also announced that they have formed their practice squad, signing cornerbacks Marcus Brown and Ross Weaver, running back Chris Henry, guard Lemuel Jeanpierre, linebacker Joe Pawelek, wide receiver Pat Williams, defensive end James Wyche and quarterback Zac Robinson.
