Seahawks lose Robert Gallery for at least a month
Insult in the way of a 24-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers turned to injury as the Seattle Seahawks learned left guard Robert Gallery will require surgery for a groin injury following the team’s loss.
Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times reports that even though Gallery was able to finish the game after suffering the injury in the first quarter, he’ll be on the shelf for four to six weeks, the latest blow for an offense that appears to be stuck in neutral.
"He studded it out, and played through it," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He shouldn't have, but he did, and made it through it. We didn't know about it until after the game."
Gallery is the 12th player the Seahawks have used at left guard since 2006 after Steve Hutchinson was allowed to bolt. The number goes to 13 this week if Paul McQuistan replaces Gallery, and that’s what O’Neil is forecasting.
