Seahawks sign LB David Hawthorne to 1-year extension
The Seattle Seahawks have signed linebacker David Hawthorne to a one-year extension through next season.
The total value of the deal, reported first on Mac’s Football Blog, is $1.38 million. Hawthorne collects a $350,000 signing bonus and his base salary for the final six weeks of this season was bumbed up. His base salary next season will be $900,000.
Hawthorne led the defense in tackles last season when he replaced an injured Lofa Tatupu at middle linebacker. Now, he’s filling in for Leroy Hill on the weak side and is performing well. The former undrafted free agent from TCU looks like he is going to be a fixture for years to come in Seattle.
