Seahawks sign TE Chris Baker
The Seattle Seahawks missed out on Ben Watson when the free-agent tight end signed in Cleveland, but they were successful landing Watson’s backup, Chris Baker.
The veteran has agreed to a $4.75 million, two-year contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, and gives the Seahawks a reliable veteran to pair with standout John Carlson.
Baker caught 14 passes for 142 yards with two touchdowns last season with the New England Patriots. He’s just three years removed from a 41-catch season with the New York Jets. It will be interesting to see how much double tight end action the Seahawks go to this season with the new coaching staff.
