Seahawks traded for D'Anthony Smith, cut Brady Quinn
The Seattle Seahawks have traded an undisclosed future draft choice to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for defensive tackle D’Anthony Smith, pending a physical.
Smith was originally drafted in the third roundd2010 NFL Draft by the Jaguars out of Louisiana Tech.
After spending both the 2010 and 2011 seasons on injured reserve, Smith saw his first action in 2012, playing in eight games and recording 10 tackles (six solo) before being placed on injured reserve with a head injury.
The Seahawks also announced the decision to keep defensive end Chris Clemons on the active roster.
They cut veteran defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, fullback Michael Robinson, quarterback Brady Quinn and cornerback Antoine Winfield.
The Seahawks cut wide receiver Phil Bates, defensive tackles Michael Brooks and Dewayne Cherrington, wide receiver Arceto Clark, tight end Darren Fells, safety Winston Guy, wide receiver Chris Harper, tighte nd Cooper Helfet, defensive tackle Jaye Howard, guard Rishaw Johnson, tight end Sean McGrath, defensive back Ron Parker, linebacker Ty Powell, guard Ryan Seymour, defensive back DeShawn Shead, defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, guard Jared Smith and wide receiver Bryan Walters.
