Sean Payton says Marques Colston will play Sunday
New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton told Jacksonville media during a teleconference today that wide receiver Marques Colston, sidelined for the last two games with a broken collarbone suffered in the season opener, has been medically cleared and will play Sunday against the Jaguars.
But according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Payton was a little less emphatic. He told media in New Orleans that Colston was limited in a return to practice. It has been expected that Colston would miss four games and it would be a might quick recovery for him if he plays Sunday.
Perhaps Payton was engaged in a little gamesmanship. The last thing the Saints want is for Colston to return quickly and re-injure his collarbone. Or maybe it was just a minor fracture for Colston and it’s a matter of a little pain management. We’ll find out Sunday.
