Sean Payton won't say who is calling plays this Sunday
Holed up in the coaches’ booth following his knee and leg surgery, New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton passed the play-calling duties on to offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael last week.
The results were stunning as the Saints hung 62 points on the Colts in the blowout.
Payton’s not ready to reveal who will be calling plays this week when the Saints travel to St. Louis to face the Rams in the Edward Jones Dome.
“Sunday noon," Payton said, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Triplett speculates Payton will reclaim the role, and many coordinators do call games from the booth. The reason Payton handed over chores last week was because he missed the first few days of preparation while he was hospitalized.
