Service for Don Coryell scheduled for July 12
A memorial service for Don Coryell, a man who fell just short of being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame next month, has been scheduled for July 12 at San Diego State University.
The Associated Press reported that Coryell will be honored at the service at Viejas Arena at 2 p.m. that day. It is the only service that will take place according to a school spokesman.
Coryell, the architect of the Air Coryell offenses in San Diego, died Thursday at 85 following a lengthy illness. He is the first coach to win 100 games in college and the NFL.
