Seventh-round pick J'Marcus Webb signs with Bears
Turns out the Chicago Bears were not far behind the Houston Texans.
They have their first draft pick under contract as the team announced this evening that J’Marcus Webb, the seventh-round pick from West Texas A&M, has signed a four-year deal.
The offensive tackle, who transferred after his freshman season at Texas, is viewed as a developmental prospect, but they club believes he has a bright future ahead of himself. He is the younger cousin of Richmond Webb, the longtime standout at left tackle for the Miami Dolphins.
Webb is believed to be the second draft pick in the league to sign following LSU’s Trindon Holliday, who signed with Houston on Friday. The Bears are aiming to have all five of their draft picks under contract by May 28.
