Sidney Rice returns to practice for Vikings
Two days after Randy Moss officially exited the Minnesota Vikings, they finally got Sidney Rice back on the practice field.
But when the playmaking wide receiver will be available remains to be seen. Rice will not play Sunday when the Vikings host the Arizona Cardinals at the Metrodome.
Rice has started the three-week window to practice that he has being on the physically unable to perform list. He’s been sidelined literally since the NFC Championship Game with a hip injury. He didn’t elect to have surgery on his right hip until training camp began.
"It felt great," Rice said, according to Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "It was awesome to be out there running around. It felt great when I was running. A little sore today, a lot of tightness in there. Will continue to do what our trainers stuff have their protocol, so keep following that for now.”
When the Vikings will be ready to promote Rice off the PUP list remains to be seen. He’s obviously got to hold up over a series of practices, and it could be two weeks before he’s ready.
