Slauson: Jets will have 'separate playbooks'
New York Jets guard Matt Slausen said new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano's playbook makes it look like the Jets will be a completely different team when Tim Tebow is at quarterback as opposed to Mark Sanchez.
"It’s like we’re going to be two separate teams, but as far as I know, Mark is still going to be our guy," Slauson told the New York Post.
With Sanchez being "the guy," Slausen professed confidence that his portion of the playbook will be tailored so he can be set up for success.
"I think you guys will be really surprised by what Mark is going to do this year," Slauson said. "I really think the way we’re going to be running things plays right into Mark's strengths. It'll be very similar to what we did Rex (Ryan's) first two years, very much a style like that: heavy run, heavy play-action and whipping out a deep ball every now and then. That’s all stuff Mark does really, really well."
