Sore foot keeps Blackmon out of mini-camp work

Rookie wide receiver Justin Blackmon was held out of the Jacksonville Jaguars final day of mini-camp practices on Sunday, according to the team's website.

Blackmon, the Jaguars' first-round pick, had soreness in his right foot and was sideline as a precaution.

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey was pleased with what he saw from Blackmon, who the Jags believe will be ready when OTAs begin in eight days.

"We saw what we needed to see,” Mularkey said. “We got a good chance to install and be around him, and him be around us. We just thought it would be smart on our part and on his part if we held him out of the drills and had him ready when OTAs start here in about eight days.”
