Source: Cardinals sign D.J. Humphries to four-year, $8.912 million deal
The Arizona Cardinals have signed first-round offensive tackle D.J. Humphries to a four-year, $8.912 million deal that includes $7.961 million guaranteed with a $4.741 million signing bonus, according to a league source.
Humphries ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds at the NFL scouting combine where he bench pressed 225 pounds 26 times and had a 31-inch vertical leap.
The 6-foot-5, 312 pounder has 33 5/8 arms and 10 inch hands.
Humphries started 19 of 29 career games.
He was named an All-Southeastern Conference freshman selection in 2102.
He played in seven games with six starts before sprained his medial collateral ligament.
He missed two games last season.
A five-star recruit from North Carolina and the top-ranked tackle, Humphries won the Anthony Munoz award as the nation's top high school lineman in 2011.
Humphries' father, D.J., played wide receiver with the Baltimore Ravens and in the Arena Football League.
Humphries is known for his aggressiveness and athleticism.
