Source: Chiefs try out Ras-I Dowling, Chris Rainey

The Kansas City Chiefs tried out of-injured former New England Patriots second-round cornerback Ras-I Dowling, according to a league source.

Selected 33rd overall out of Virginia in 2011, Dowling had issues with his quadriceps and hip. The Patriots traded the 89th overall pick in 2010 to the Carolina Panthers for a second-rounder in 2011, which became the Dowling selection.

The Chiefs also tried out speedy former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Rainey.

They worked out tight ends Kyle Adams, Richard Gordon, Brett Brackett and Matt Veldman, defensive back T.J. Heath, defensive tackle Kheeston Randall and nose tackle Sealer Siliga.
