Source: Connecticut corner Byron Jones has visits with Cardinals, Cowboys, Eagles, Bills, 49ers, Bears

Connecticut standout cornerback Byron Jones, one of the most athletic draft prospects, has a total of seven visits, including the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears, according to a league source. Jones has been invited to attend the NFL draft in Chicago. Jones set an NFL scouting combine record in the broad jump with a 12-3 effort in February, it also broke the official world record in the track event established in 1968. Jones also had a 44 1/2 inch vertical leap at the combine. Jones started 37 games for the Huskies, including the first seven games of his senior year until he had season-ending left shoulder surgery that prevented him from playing in the Senior Bowl.. Jones finished with 223 career tackles and eight interceptions. At his Pro Day workout, Jones lived up to his reputation, running the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds. Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer ran the workout. Jones met with the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots before the workout. A converted safety, Jones had 24 tackles and two interceptions, returning one 70 yards for a touchdown prior to his injury last season. Jones bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times, roughly five months after undergoing surgery to repair his labrum. Follow me on Twitter: Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
