Source: Eagles CB Hobbs to be tendered at low level
First-year Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman predicted last week at the scouting combine that veteran cornerback Ellis Hobbs will be a “big-time contributor to our football team next year.”
To that end, the Eagles are not going to allow him to slip away as a restricted free agent. A league source said that the plan is for the team to tender him at the low level before Thursday’s deadline.
Hobbs, originally a third-round draft pick of the New England Patriots, injured his neck after eight games last season. He underwent surgery to repair a herniated disc in his neck and it was announced at the time that he would make a full recovery. Sounds like everything remains headed in that direction.
