Source: Falcons worked out Florida WR-KR Solomon Patton
The Atlanta Falcons worked out speedy University of Florida wide receiver-kick returner Solomon Patton on Thursday, according to a league source.
Patton ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds at the Gators' Pro Day, bench pressing 225 pounds 16 times with a 33-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump.
The 5-foot-8, 179-pound Mobile, Ala. native had 44 catches for 556 yards and six touchdowns last season. He led the Gators with 1,269 all-purpose yards last season. He had a career-long 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
A team captain last season, Patton was voted team Most Valuable Player and won the Gators' Courage award.
He rushed for 217 career yards and returned 39 kickoffs for 1,079 yards. He averaged 28 yards on three punt returns with one touchdown.
In the Medal of Honor Bowl all-star game, he was voted the team Most Valuable Player. He had three catches for 50 yards and a 33-yard run.
