Source: Former Dolphins coach interviews with Saints, closing in on assistant job

Former Miami Dolphins interim head coach Dan Campbell interviewed with the New Orleans Saints all day Tuesday, according to league sources. Campbell has a strong comfort level with mentor Sean Payton, the Saints head coach. He hasn't accepted the job yet, but sources say it's headed in that direction. The gritty former NFL tight end went 5-7 as the Dolphins’ replacement for fired coach Joe Philbin. NFL teams have been making inquiries about Campbell. That includes the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and the San Diego Chargers checking into his availability. Campbell isn’t expected to have a hard time landing a job.
