Source: Jets signing wide receiver Joe Anderson to practice squad

The New York Jets are signing wide receiver Joe Anderson to their practice squad, according to a league source. Anderson, 27, had sought a tryout with the Houston Texans, even holding a sign and standing outside of NRG Stadium several times to try to get their attention. He didn't get a workout, though. "All I want is a shot to prove myself," Anderson said in a telephone interview. "I'm hungry, I'm determined and I will do whatever it takes to succeed. I just want a chance. I will never give up. I love this game." Anderson had previous stints with the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. He's played in nine games previously for the Bears. "I'm determined to show what I can do," Anderson said. "I love football and I'm blessed by God to be able to play this game. I can do this, I know it."
