Source: Josh Freeman, Adam Weber worked out for Bears

The Chicago Bears worked out former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman today, according to a league source.

Freeman wasn't immediately signed to a contract.

The Bears also tried out free agent quarterback Adam Weber, a former University of Minnesota standout.

Freeman joined the Vikings on a one-year, $3 million deal after being cut by the Buccaneers.

Freeman was cut by the Buccaneers following a bizarre downward spiral where he accused the team of leaking confidential information about his status in the NFL substance-abuse program, was fined for an unauthorized interview and missing a team meeting and was demoted and replaced by Mike Glennon.

Freeman went 20 of 53 for 190 yards, a 37.7 percent completion percent, with one touchdown and no interceptions in his lone start for the Vikings.

He had two touchdowns and four interceptions and 761 yards overall last season.

Freeman is a former Buccaneers first-round draft pick from Kansas State.
