Source: Mississippi State tight end Darrion Hutcherson to visit Chargers
Mississippi State tight end Darrion Hutcherson is scheduled to visit the San Diego Chargers in April, according to a league source. Hutcherson is a massive downfield target at 6-6, 260 pounds. The Copiah-Lincoln Community College transfer caught 16 career passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. He played in 26 games for the Bulldogs with six starts. Hutcherson bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times and had a 29-inch vertical leap at the Bulldogs' Pro Day workout. Hutcherson caught a touchdown against Kentucky. He had two catches for 26 yards in the Belk Bowl. Hutcherson played defensive end initially at junior college before moving to tight end on a full-time basis. Hutcherson was one of the top-ranked tight end recruits in the nation growing up in Alabama. He caught 31 passes for 550 yards and a six touchdowns as senior and was named all-state and All-American.
