Source: Panthers re-signing linebacker Jason Williams

The Carolina Panthers are re-signing linebacker Jason Williams, according to a league source.

Williams is a former Dallas Cowboys third-round draft pick from Western Illinois where he forced 14 career fumbles and had 289 tackles, 45 for losses and 15 sacks as an All-Gateway Conference and All-American selection.

This marks Williams' third stint with the Panthers, whom he previously played for last season and in 2010 and 2011.

He has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

For his NFL career, the speedy 6-foot-1, 245-pounder has 49 tackles and two forced fumbles.
