Source: Ramon Harewood visits Panthers

Former Baltimore Ravens starting offensive lineman Ramon Harewood visited the Carolina Panthers, according to a league source.

Harewood is a former Ravens sixth-round draft pick from Morehouse who has previously worked out for the New York Giants since being cut by Baltimore prior to the regular season.

Harewood started at left guard for the Ravens before being replaced early last season.

Harewood had knee surgeries early in his NFL career, spending his first two seasons on injured reserve, but is regarded as healthy now.

The 6-foot-6, 340-pound is the first player from Barbados to play in the NFL and initially attended Morehouse on an academic scholarship before starting to play football.

Growing up in Barbados, Harewood played rugby, volleyball and track and field
