Source: Tennessee WR Marquez North worked out for Patriots
Tennessee wide receiver Marquez North had a private workout for the New England Patriots, according to a league source.
He has previously worked out for the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys.
North is a junior who declared early for the NFL draft. The 6-2, 223-pounder runs the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times. He had a 35-inch vertical leap and a 10-2 broad jump.
North is a former freshman All-American who caught 38 passes for 496 yards in 2013.
It was the third most yards by a freshman in school history.
The Charlotte, N.C., native had 30 catches as a sophomore, but was limited by injuries last season as he finished with six catches for 58 yards.
He had a torn shoulder labrum in 2014. North has excellent ball skills and leaping ability and has a penchant for acrobatic catches. Follow me on Twitter; @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
