Sources: Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey shot in head, to undergo surgery

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his head, according to multiple league sources. Bailey is scheduled to have surgery Wednesday. Sources say the outlook is more optimistic after initial fears of the worse. Multiple NFL players have expressed concern about Bailey's health after being shot Bailey was shot in an incident in Miami, Fla. He's in critical, but stable condition. Bailey has served two games of a four-game NFL suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy. The former third-round draft pick from West Virginia served a two-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Bailey has 12 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown this season.
