South Carolina standout junior running back Mike Davis visited the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots, according to sources. Davis rushed for 982 yards and nine touchdowns last season after overcoming hamstring and rib injuries. He caught 32 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns. In 2013, he rushed for 1,183 yards and 11 touchdowns and was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection. Davis finished his career with 2,240 career rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. He caught 72 career passes for 755 yards. He also caught 34 passes for 352 yards. Davis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds at the Gamecocks' campus Pro Day workout after running a 4.61 at the NFL scouting combine where he bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times. Davis had a 34-inch vertical leap and a 9-8 broad jump, a 4.18 short shuttle and a 7.000 three-cone drill. Davis' older brother, James Davis, was a star running back at Clemson who played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins.
Davis rushed for 1,923 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior in high school growing up in Stone Mountain, Ga. He played in the U.S. Army All-American game. Davis chose South Carolina over Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State and Clemson.
