Sources: TCU linebacker Paul Dawson visited 49ers, Buccaneers, Chiefs, worked out for Falcons, Buccaneers

Texas Christian All-American linebacker Paul Dawson has visited the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs and had private workouts for the Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons, according to sources. Dawson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 and 4.77 seconds at his Pro Day workout, improving upon a 4.93 at the NFL scouting combine. Dawson had a 30-inch vertical leap, and a 9-4 broad jump. He improved his vertical leap by two inches from the combine. He was five pounds lighter at his Pro Day, listed at 6-foot and 230 pounds. Dawson met with the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints at his Pro Day workout.
At the combine, he bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times.
An instinctive linebacker, Dawson had 136 tackles, 20 for losses, four interceptions and five sacks and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and named All-Big 12 Conference. He forced two fumbles and recovered three.
Dawson had 91 tackles, 10 for losses, in 2013.
A Dallas native, Dawson transferred from Trinity Valley Community College and originally played wide receiver.
