Sparano on job security: 'Go ask the sources'
Tony Sparano's job security with the Miami Dolphins continues to be the subject of much speculation in South Florida.
The Dolphins dropped to 0-3, falling to the Cleveland Browns, 17-16, in perhaps their most winnable game of their first five, leading to rumors and discussions among many that Sparano's days as head Dolphin are numbered.
When the subject came up at Monday's press conference following the Cleveland loss, Sparano didn't sound like a man who wanted to focus too much on such a topic, according to the Palm Beach Post.
“I don’t know anything about that,” he replied. “I’m getting ready for the San Diego Chargers. You guys can figure that out. Go ask the sources. They’ll tell you better than me.”
If Sparano is to somehow turn the tide in Miami, he will have to do it against the some long odds. After a cross-country trip to San Diego this week, the Dolphins will have a bye, followed by a road trip to the AFC East rival New York Jets. Not exactly the easiest road to travel. But then again, the Dolphins have lost 11 of their past 12 at home, so maybe the road won't be so bad after all.
