Spring Ball Injury Preview
As the winter sets in for Blacksburg, let us look ahead at the upcoming Spring season. Coach Beamer came out with a list of the players out and limited for Spring football. Here are the players ruled out for Spring football.
Kyle Chung (Shoulder)
The big offensive linemen, son of the great Eugene Chung, will miss Spring football due to a shoulder issue. He will have to get healthy in the summer to challenge for a possible starting spot.
Ken Ekanem (Shoulder)
The Hokies 2014-2015 sack leader will miss Spring football due to a shoulder injury. He had a breakout year last year at defensive end. Hopefully, he will be healthy to resume his terrorizing of the quarterback this coming season.
Luther Maddy (Meniscus)
The senior will sit out of his final Spring in Blacksburg due to a torn meniscus suffered early in the season. He is one of the few seniors on that defense and is a real leader.
Devin VanDyke (Shoulder)
Sadly, Devin VanDyke has been deemed ineligible for football due to his chronic injuries.
Marshawn Williams (ACL)
Marshawn Williams will also sit out in the Spring. He is rehabilitating his knee, but will have to come back strong to reclaim his starting spot this season. Trey Edmunds suffered a broken leg in 2013 and could not get to full strength until mid season, leading to Williams rise last season.
Here are some other players that will be limited for Spring football.
Kendall Fuller, A.J. Hughes, Sam Rodgers, Shai McKenzie, Zach Snell, and Braxton Pfaff.
