Stacy Andrews now at right guard for Eagles
His brother is gone and Stacy Andrews is now manning the spot his brother was supposed to play last season.
Stacy Andrews has been moved to right guard after a one-year trial when Shawn Andrews, his younger brother, was to man the position and he was supposed to play right tackle. But a knee injury the Philadelphia Eagles thought he would be able to recover from much sooner wound up hampering him for the majority of the season. Since, Stacy Andrews has agreed to a contract restructuring and he’s ready to go.
"Last year, the only thing I was getting was mental reps," Stacy Andrews told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. "This year, I'm there in it and going through everything.
"I got (the contract issue) out of the way. I knew I wanted to be here. With the (pay) cut, that didn't bother me at all."
Stacy Andrews admitted to being down after his brother was released by the team but Shawn Andrews has been plagued by back problems as well as depression. A major signing in free agency from Cincinnati, this is an opportunity for Stacy Andrews to deliver on the team’s investment this season.
