Stafford returns but Motown won't see it on television

Matthew Stafford will play for the first time since opening weekend but if you live near Detroit you will not see it unless you buck up and head to Ford Field.

The NFL has blacked out the game, meaning it cannot be shown legally within a 75-mile radius of Ford Field. The Lions are hosting the Washington Redskins and the team has said this week it believes the playoffs are still within reach.

Per the Detroit News, some 8,500 tickets remain unsold for the game. This will be the first blackout this season for the Lions, who had four of their eight home games blacked out in 2009.
