StarCaps case finally over, NFL wins a court case
As the NFL attempts to navigate the courtroom and stop some of the bleeding following some significant victories for the players in the labor battle, the league has a win of its own to claim.
The long often twisted StarCaps case has come to an end. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told PFT this afternoon that the Minnesota Supreme Court denied to review an appeals court decision of the case. That brings closure to an issue that hovered for seasons.
Chances are that means Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams and New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith will be suspended for the first four games of the 2011 season. Pat Williams and Charles Grant, also caught in the StarCaps case, are free agents.
“Case over,” Aiello tweeted. “NFL wins.”
We’ll see how the NFL does in its latest legal entanglement.
