State Farm releasing new ad with Rodgers spoofing TD celebration
As Aaron Rodgers’ star grows nationally, so does the marketability of the Green Bay Packers quarterback.
State Farm will release a sequel to his most popular ad, the commercial where he mocks his own touchdown celebration in a “Discount Double Check” promotion for the insurance company.
Don Walker of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Rodgers filmed a new ad Tuesday with teammates Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji. It could debut this weekend during wild-card playoff games or other football programming.
“The great thing about Aaron is that he doesn't mind being a little self-deprecating," said Tim Van Hoof, State Farm’s assistant vice president for marketing communications. "We're stealing one of his moves, so to speak, and using it as the Discount Double Check. That continues. We just had some fun with it."
