Steelers clinch playoff spot
The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading to the 2014 postseason.
By defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 20-12, the Steelers guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. At 10-5, a loss to Cincinnati in the season-finale won't matter in terms of the team's postseason fate.
Regardless if Cincinnati loses to Denver Monday night or not, the Steelers and Bengals will be playing for the AFC North title. If the Bengals win Monday night, a playoff spot is clinched. If Denver wins, Cincinnati will need to beat Pittsburgh to not only win the AFC North, but to get a playoff spot. Otherwise, things could actually get murky for the Bengals.
As a result, the Steelers-Bengals game has been flexed to the Sunday night slot since it's the de facto AFC North championship game.
