Steelers sign Tahj Boyd

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former Clemson quarterback Tahj Boyd to a one-year contract.

Boyd is a former Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year who was drafted in the sixth round last year by the New York Jets.

He played in the Senior Bowl.

Boyd played for theĀ  Florida Blacktips and the Boston Brawler of the Fall Experimental Football League. Boyd completed 58 percent of his passes in five starts with the Brawlers, throwing for 713 yards and six touchdowns with one interception. A three-year starter at Clemson, Boyd passed for more than 3,800 yards all three years and at least 33 touchdowns. Boyd also had 10 rushing touchdowns in both of hisĀ  junior and senior years.
