Steve Frost named CEO of NFP

La Jolla, CA. – National Football Post (NFP), a property of Reign Net Media LLC, has hired Silicon Valley veteran Steve Frost as CEO, effective immediately. Frost brings more than 15 years experience with leading Internet companies including Netscape, Google, and most recently, Plixi, where he served as VP of Strategy and Business Development. Frost will be in charge of all aspects of the business, including growing traffic and revenue, spearheading new project initiatives, and raising a new round of venture funding.

Frost called National Football Post a fantastic property, featuring excellent football content that exceeds most blogs and fan sites.

“We think NFP is a great site for sports fans, and we will actively pursue every angle possible to grow our exposure and readership and drive revenues,” Frost said. “As media companies continue to realize the value of college and professional football, we believe there is a significant growing market for high-end analysis, especially concerning the NFL Draft and player personnel matters.”

Frost said NFP’s staff of former NFL executives, scouts and agents provides football fans unique perspectives supported by in-depth analysis.

“Our staff has a real-world understanding of how football works and how teams go about their business,” Frost continued. “Our experts are supported by veteran writers and football insiders who know how to communicate this information to serious football fans craving more information on their favorite teams at the professional and college level.”

Prior to his stint at Plixi (acquired by Lockerz, Inc.), Frost spent more than six years at Google, spearheading the company’s strategic relationships with major cable and telephone companies. Before entering the technology industry, Frost was a scholarship varsity football player for Stanford University. He graduated from Stanford in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Master’s degree in Organizational Sociology.

Jack Bechta, a National Football League agent and founder of National Football Post said they are thrilled to have Frost join their team.

“Steve’s years at Google and other top Internet companies provide invaluable experience and connections,” Bechta said. “He also knows and understands the game of football, coming from a family of football coaches and having played the game in college. We have many exciting new product and content initiatives in store. We fill a unique niche in the football media landscape, and Steve will help maximize our exposure and value through strategic partnerships and focused marketing.”

NFP President and former Green Bay Packers Vice President Andrew Brandt said Frost brings a deep understanding of the business of football and the world of technology.

“Frost brings valuable insight into the workings of all aspects of football and the Internet, including advertising, content syndication, and funding,” Brandt said. “I look forward to working closely with him to grow our business and serve our readers.”
