Steve Smith remains optimistic Giants will pay him

Steve Smith has a long, slow road back from microfracture knee surgery, but the New York Giants wide receiver still believes he is going to be paid.

That remains to be seen, and Smith knows he won’t cash in until a resolution to the labor situation comes.

But the veteran, who set a franchise record with 107 receptions in 2009, is optimistic.

“I think once the labor deal is done it will clear itself up more, but I really don't know," Smith told Paul Schwarz of the New York Post. "I'm not putting pressure on myself. I'm not sitting at home worrying about it either. I'm living my life."
