Steve Smith says Ric Flair has burned bridges with 49ers allegiance

As far as Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is concerned, he's done with Nature Boy Ric Flair.

The Charlotte, N.C., resident gave a speech to the San Francisco 49ers before their win over the Green Bay Packers, pledging his allegiance to the NFC West champions.

Heading into Sunday's playoff game against the Panthers, Flair said, "Ric Flair's heart is with the 49ers all the way to the end."

Smith told The Charlotte Observer he's through with Flair.

"That San Francisco bridge has been burned," Smith said.

As for Smith, he's expected to return Sunday from a sprained posterior cruciate lateral ligament.
