Still no timetable for a return by Sidney Rice
The Minnesota Vikings could use some positive injury news.
They got some. Sort of.
Sidney Rice, who has missed the entire season to this point following hip surgery in August that could have been performed much earlier in the offseason, caught some passes on the field during practice on Wednesday from his position coach George Stewart.
“I was jogging around,” Rice said, who according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “I wasn’t doing routes.”
The Vikings have until Nov. 9 to activate Rice from the physically unable to perform list. When he’ll be back in action, though, no one can say. It might not be until much later next month.
“I think it’s going great right now,” Rice told Zulgad. “I’m going to continue to do what they ask me to do and I’m just working to get better and get out on the field.”
