A look at a three prospects who have helped their draft stock dramatically throughout the post-season process.

TE Jordan Cameron: Southern Cal (6-5, 254)
Cameron is currently sitting as the NFP’s number two ranked tight end and has the making of a legit pass catching threat at the next level. The former basketball player has developed considerably since stepping foot on the gridiron, displaying an improved release, less wasted motion out of his breaks and exhibits the flexibility to block with leverage in the run game. Add that to the fact that the guy is a gifted athlete with good straight-line speed, explosive vertical capabilities and knows how to separate vs. man coverage. He looked like an intriguing later round prospect during the season, but ever since watching him live at the East/West Shrine game, I wouldn’t have any qualms using a 3rd/4th round pick on the kid if the need was there.
CB Buster Skrine: UT Chattanooga (5-10, 186)
Skrine was a prospect I never even heard of before the NFLPA Game practices. However, the guy stuck out like a sore thumb due to his ability to sit into his drop, keep his feet under him and cleanly get out of his breaks. Plus, he showcased natural fluidity when asked to turn and run, and was extremely difficult to gain separation from on all levels of the field. Fast forward to the NFL Combine where Skrine posted a sub 4.4 40-time, 20-reps on the bench and one of the fastest short shuttles at 3.90-seconds. The small-school standout now looks like a potential mid round option (4th/5th round) and checks in as the NFP’s 14th ranked corner.
DE Jabaal Sheard: Pittsburgh (6-3, 264)
Sheard’s the one prospect that has been quietly going under the radar in this very talented defensive line class. However, he’s a highly productive pass rusher who possesses a thick lower half, an intruding pass rush arsenal and plays with a great motor. At the NFL Combine be proved that he was a gifted athlete, running in the high 4.6 range and in my mind he not only displays the capabilities to play down as a DE in the 43, but also stand-up as a 34 OLB. And from scout’s I’ve talked with about his character concerns surrounding a fight back in July, they say it’s really not that big of an issue. He’s a guy who I would love to pick off the board early in round two and think he could end up maturing into one of the better pass rushers to come out of this year’s draft.
