Suck for Luck not playing well in NFL locker rooms

Not surprisingly, the Suck for Luck campaign is not a big hit in the NFL locker rooms where it actually could have relevance.

Indianapolis center Jeff Saturday said Wednesday in a conference call with the Tennessee media that having fans of the 0-7 Colts wanting the team to keep losing in order to draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the first pick is not something he and his teammates will ever buy into.

“I've done this for 13 years. I'll steal a Robert Mathis quote, 'I ain't sucking for anybody.' That's the reality of it,” Saturday said. “Robert said it best. I'm out there every week trying to win games. I don't care about all the rest of it. I'm trying to take care of this week.”

Meanwhile, in Miami, Dolphins tight end Anthony Fasano was very vocal in his disdain for Suck for Luck in an interview with WFAN in New York, which turned up on
“It’s sick actually. I can’t even fathom those thoughts of those people that conjure up that stuff. They have never played sports and pretty much aren’t really our loyal fans. I can’t really put any weight into that and I know the players don’t listen to it. It’s a shame, but people are going to talk and we just have to block that out.”
