Suggs, Upshaw on Ravens' NFI list
Not surprisingly, the Baltimore Ravens placed outside linebacker Terrell Suggs on the non-football injury list.
What is a bit of a surprise is the player the Ravens were hoping could help replace Suggs, Courtney Upshaw, is also on the NFI list, says the Carroll County Times' Aaron Wilson.
Suggs, depending on which report you believe, partially tore his Achilles tendon either working out or playing pickup basketball in the off-season.
Upshaw, the team's second-round pick from Alabama, is on the list because he did not pass his conditioning test. Also, undrafted rookie tight end Bruce Figgins is on the NFI list as well. Players can be taken off the list at any time during camp.
The Ravens also put a number of players on the PUP list to open camp. Those include defensive end Pernell McPhee (knee), offensive guard Kelechi Osemele (leg), wide receiver David Reed (knee) and offensive lineman Jah Reid (calf).
