Swollen knee still plaguing Beanie Wells

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells is still battling swelling in his right knee, an allergic reaction to a shot he received.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Wells is better than he was last week, but he’s still a ways from being healed up. Wells was held out of practice on Wednesday. He missed two practices last week and then was used only sparingly in the Cardinals’ overtime loss at Minnesota on Sunday.

“I don't think I have practice to be out there playing a lot more than I played last week,” Wells told Somers.

It was a tough loss for the Cardinals in the wide-open NFC West, and they need to get more consistent with their rushing attack. Arizona hosts the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and this is a pivotal game for both teams. For the Cardinals’ sake, hopefully Wells is doing better today.
