T.J. Ward expresses embarrassment following stripclub incident
Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward expressed regret at being charged with misdemeanor assault and disturbing the peace following an incident at a strip club.
"Any time there's a negative situation about yourself, it's a little embarrassing," Ward told Denver reporters. "But I think it was kind of blown out of proportion. It was basically a ticket or a summons and it wasn't supposed to be a warrant. There was miscommunication between the police department and myself so that's why they issued that. But that's all being resolved and I'm looking forward and continuing with OTAs."
Ward was signed to a four-year contract this offseason after making the Pro Bowl last year with the Cleveland Browns.
Ward allegedy threw a mug at a bartender when she told him he wasn't allowed to bring alcohol inside the stripclub.
"Like all legal processes, we do have a process," Broncos coach John Fox said. "We feel good about what direction it's going and we'll work through it."
