Take a tour of Metrodome, get a piece of the roof
Wanna get a piece of the Metrodome roof? And an up-close look of the new roof going in?
The Metrodome is offering tours to fans from April through November on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The first 2,000 people who complete the tour will receive a piece of fabric from the original roof, the one that went kaput on Dec. 12 when it was buried in heavy snow and ice. No word whether or not snow or ice is included in the giveaway.
It’s a good way to get a close-up look at the installation of the new roof, that will take half of the year almost. It’s a roof that will be over the Minnesota Vikings for maybe just one season if a new stadium deal cannot be brokered. The club’s lease at the Metrodome expires after the 2011 season.
