Talib could be in trouble again already
Aqib Talib has vowed that he will not put himself in jeopardy again in the NFL.
His one-game suspension for a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy – he punched a cab driver – was lifted earlier this week.
“It's behind me, man. I'm just happy to get it over with," Talib told Joe Henderson of the Tampa Tribune. “It's the first time it ever happened to me and it'll be the last time it ever happens to me.”
Maybe you’ll find it ironic that now the league is investigating whether or not Talib violated that one-game suspension by attending Sunday’s opener against the Cleveland Browns and watching from a suite in Raymond James Stadium.
“He cannot be at the stadium,'' NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Tribune.
Aiello said the NFL is investigating the issue. Per the report, Talib was in a suite he owns, but that doesn’t make it less of a violation. Bucs officials have declined comment on the issue, but it’s those officials who should have made it crystal clear to Talib the terms of his suspension. You know, something like, “Don’t you dare show up Sunday.”
Talib is expected to start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Stay tuned to see if he already has another violation, the kind of thing he vowed to avoid.
